Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to join our dynamic HR team. As the Payroll & Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our company's benefit offerings and compensation programs, ensuring employees are fairly and competitively compensated, while also providing them with valuable and comprehensive benefits that meet their diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Primary Responsibilities of this position include:
a. Manage all Benefits programs, including communication with vendors and employees.
b. Construct, monitor, and oversee all Compensation related programs and initiatives.
c. Complete timely compliance filings for all benefits, i.e. ESOP, 401k, Medical, etc.
d. Oversee the accurate and timely completion of the company’s Payroll and payroll related activities.
2. Assist with the coordination of Leave Management including FMLA, Workers Comp, STD, LTD and other types of leave, consulting with co-workers, managers, and health care professionals to evaluate the need for light duty return to work, reasonable accommodations, and other appropriate responses.
3. Design, implement, and communicate Benefit and Compensation programs that align with the company's overall goals and strategy.
4. Conduct regular Payroll audits to ensure accuracy, completeness of payroll data, and record reconciliation.
5. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to Payroll and Benefits, implementing changes where needed.
6. Manage, support, and train/develop two employees within the Payroll and Benefits functions.
7. Serve as the secondary point of contact for all Payroll and Benefit related inquiries from employees and management.
8. Oversee the annual census, involving wages, Payroll, Benefit, ESOP, and 401k data.
9. Stay up to date on Benefit, Compensation, and Payroll trends and best practices.
10. Cross train in other Human Resources as needed.
11. Performs additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.
Qualifications/Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Benefits Management, Payroll and/or Compensation.
3. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
4. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to Benefits and Payroll.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
6. Proficient in payroll software and MS Office applications.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
