Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of our employees' paychecks and maintaining compliance with all payroll regulations and laws.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all employees.
2. Accurately calculate and record payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other voluntary deductions.
3. Acts as customer service consultant for payroll related issues and handling complex issues requiring specialized knowledge and escalating cases as appropriate.
4. Own and maintain the HR related data within the organization’s HRIS, including making recommendations on improving the efficiency of the data.
5. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by complying with periodic reporting, studying existing and new legislation, obtaining qualified opinions, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.
6. Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and payments.
7. Maintain and update employee payroll records.
8. Generate reports and provide payroll data to management as needed.
9. Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processes.
10.Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
11.Cross train in other Human Resources and Benefits areas.
12.Performs additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.
Qualifications/Requirements:
1. Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.
3. Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
4. Proficient in using payroll software, preferably ADP or similar system.
5. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
7. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
9. Knowledge of HRIS and timekeeping systems is a plus.
